Changelog tools tell users what changed in a product: a public changelog page, an in-app widget, email updates and, in many tools, feedback and a roadmap alongside. Dedicated tools such as Beamer, AnnounceKit, LaunchNotes, Headway, Noticeable and Olvy focus on announcing; Frill, Featurebase and Canny add a changelog to a feedback suite; Released writes release notes from Jira. The open-source side is mostly developer tooling that writes the changelog from Git history (git-cliff, release-please, Changesets, semantic-release, Release Drafter and others); only Openchangelog publishes a hosted page you can self-host. Marks come from vendor pricing pages and project READMEs as of 19 October 2026; nothing was tested hands-on.

Gaps

What the research could not settle from the vendors' own pages.

What vendors don't publish

  • Vendors charge by different units (monthly active users, seats, Jira users, tracked users, or a flat plan), so the same audience can cost very different amounts.Beamer, Released, Canny, Featurebase · checked 2026-10-19 · source 1 · source 2 · source 3 · source 4
  • LaunchNotes does not publish a price for Premium, the plan with multiple pages, segmentation and SAML.LaunchNotes · checked 2026-10-19 · source 1
  • Headway lists its Pro plan at $29 a month without saying which features or limits Pro adds over Free.Headway · checked 2026-10-19 · source 1
  • Canny's pricing page lists a changelog among its features but does not show which plan includes it.Canny · checked 2026-10-19 · source 1
