VDO.Ninja: video streaming for OBS. Brings remote camera feeds into studio software.

In simple English

This tool lets you send live video from a phone, a browser or a second computer straight into your broadcast. It connects your devices using WebRTC (a web technology that lets browsers talk to each other directly). The video stream goes straight to your studio software without stopping on a central server first. You do not need to pay anything to use the public service. You can also host the frontend files yourself on an ordinary web server.

What it is

This repository contains the web frontend and sample configuration files for VDO.Ninja. It provides the user interface that connects publishers and viewers through a web browser.

What it is good for

Solo streamers, podcasters and event producers who need to pull remote guests into OBS or other studio software without buying expensive hardware or paying for a video relay service.

Good
  • Streams video directly between devices with very low delay.
  • Works inside your web browser without requiring a complicated installation.
  • Integrates smoothly with broadcasting software like OBS Studio.
Watch for
  • Requires an active internet connection and reliable browser support to function properly.
  • Advanced features like custom signalling servers and relay servers require separate setup.
  • Self-hosting the frontend does not remove the need for signalling and media relay infrastructure.
Replaces

Skype calls, Zoom screen shares and hardware capture cards for remote guest video.
