Investment portfolio and stocks analyzing tools for Python with free historical data

← Markets and trading

In simple English

Okama is a Python toolkit for analyzing investment portfolios and stock performance. It downloads historical market data, inflation rates and currency exchange rates for free. You can use it to test different asset mixes, run risk calculations and forecast future returns. It is made for developers and quants who want to build custom financial models. You need some Python knowledge to set it up and run the scripts.

What it is

Okama is an open-source Python library for investment portfolio analysis, optimization and macroeconomic data querying. It provides classes for individual assets, asset lists and multi-asset portfolios to run backtests, Monte Carlo simulations and Efficient Frontier calculations.

What it is good for

This is good for solo builders creating investment dashboards, personal finance tools or quantitative trading scripts. It removes the need to write custom data parsers or math routines for modern portfolio theory.
