One library | Many payment processors | Scale to multiple processors with few lines of code.

In simple English

Accepting payments online usually means writing custom code for every single payment processor you want to use. Each processor has different rules, error codes, and formats. This library gives you one single format for all of them. You can switch from one processor to another by changing a few lines of code. It does not store your customer data or credit card numbers, so your security setup stays simple.

What it is

Hyperswitch Prism is a stateless, unified connector library that translates your payment requests for Stripe, Adyen, Braintree, and other processors. It is written in Rust and provides software development kits for Node.js, Python, Java, and Rust, plus a gRPC server option.

What it is good for

Solo builders who want to avoid getting locked into a single payment processor or need to offer multiple payment backends without writing separate integrations for each one.

Good
  • Uses the same request structure for multiple payment processors.
  • Does not store credit card details or personal information on your server.
  • Provides ready-to-use packages for Node.js, Python, Java, and Rust.
Watch for
  • Does not include a built-in vault, so you must manage card tokenisation yourself.
  • Does not handle automatic payment routing or retries on its own.
  • Requires careful configuration of security credentials for each processor you add.
