In simple English
This program runs your own version of DevHunt. DevHunt is a website where people show off new tools made for programmers. Anyone can submit a new tool by sending a pull request on GitHub. Voters sign in with their accounts to keep the scores honest. You can run this code to host your own version of the site.
What it is
A Next.js (a React framework that handles server rendering and page routing) web application backed by Supabase (a hosted database service based on PostgreSQL). It provides a full directory, submission pipeline and voting system for software projects.
What it is good for
Solo builders who want to launch their own directory of software tools or run a niche community showcase without building a site from scratch.
- Open-source code under the MIT licence lets you customise everything.
- Uses GitHub pull requests for submissions to filter out spam automatically.
- Includes pre-built social sign-in connections through Supabase.
- Requires an external Supabase account and database setup.
- You need to configure OAuth credentials for GitHub and Google sign-in.
- Requires Node.js and basic knowledge of environment variables to run locally.
