In simple English

This tool automates the tedious work of preparing data for machine learning models. It takes tables of related data and time series, and then builds thousands of statistical features automatically. It runs much faster than similar open source tools by using a custom database engine written in C++. The community version is free to use for learning and experimentation, but it has restrictions against commercial use.

What it is

A Python library and companion engine for automated feature engineering on relational and time-series data. It generates thousands of candidate features, selects the best ones, and connects directly to standard machine learning predictors.

What it is good for

Data scientists and solo builders who want to speed up exploratory data analysis and model training on complex, multi-table datasets or time-series logs.

Good
  • Runs significantly faster than traditional feature engineering libraries.
  • Includes out-of-the-box support for popular models like XGBoost.
  • Provides a visual monitoring interface to inspect generated features and pipelines.
Watch for
  • The custom licence prohibits productive or commercial use without upgrading.
  • Requires Docker on macOS and Windows to run the underlying engine service.
  • Debugging complex relational data models can be difficult for non-specialists.
