The Cloud Native Webhooks Gateway

← Talking to customers
Convoy: the cloud native webhooks gateway. Manages, retries, and secures millions of webhooks.

In simple English

When your app talks to outside services through webhooks, things break. Messages drop, servers go down, and your customers complain they missed an update. This program sits between your servers and the outside world to catch every message. It tries again when delivery fails and gives you a dashboard to see what went wrong. You run it on your own server for free, but large teams with many projects will need to pay.

What it is

Convoy is a high-performance webhooks gateway written in Go (a compiled programming language made by Google for fast, reliable servers). It manages both incoming and outgoing webhook traffic with built-in retries, rate limiting, and security checks.

What it is good for

Solo builders and small teams who send or receive a high volume of webhooks and need a reliable way to manage retries without writing custom queue logic from scratch.

Good
  • Automatically retries failed webhook deliveries using exponential backoff or constant time.
  • Includes a ready-made dashboard you can embed in your app for your users to debug their own webhooks.
  • Supports both incoming and outgoing webhooks to keep your internal servers safely hidden.
Watch for
  • Setup requires running Docker and configuring an external database like Redis or Postgres.
  • Uses around 512 MB to 1 GB of memory under load, so check your server has enough headroom.
  • The free community edition restricts you to one user, one organisation, and two projects.
Replaces

Writing custom queue logic and retry loops for webhooks in your application code.

Works well with

Redis (an in-memory data store used to hold queues and cache data quickly).
