In simple English
Flectar Mail is an app for your emails, calendars, and contacts. It opens instantly and uses very little memory on your computer or phone. It keeps your data local and works even when you are offline. It runs on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS. It is free to use, but still in early development so some features are unfinished.
What it is
Flectar Mail is a native email, calendar, and contacts client written entirely in the Rust programming language (a system-level language known for speed and safety). It renders HTML messages using its own native engine rather than an embedded web browser.
What it is good for
Solo builders who want a fast, low-memory email client that brings together multiple accounts, calendars, and contacts without relying on a heavy web browser.
- Uses as little as 80 megabytes of RAM.
- Stores your mail and calendar locally for offline use.
- Connects to standard IMAP, POP3, JMAP, CalDAV, and CardDAV accounts.
- Requires technical knowledge to compile from source or troubleshoot early release bugs.
- HTML email rendering is experimental and complex messages may look broken.
- Google and Microsoft OAuth sign-in require manual setup or sponsored verification.
