Seentics: self-hosted web analytics. Traffic metrics, replays and heatmaps in one stack.

In simple English

This tool replaces several separate services for website owners. It shows you how many people visit your pages and what they do there. It also records their mouse movements and lets you build simple popups to capture leads. You run it on your own server using Docker (a way to run a program inside its own sealed box, so it cannot break anything else on your server). The software is free to download, but you pay for the server space to run it.

What it is

Seentics is a self-hosted web analytics and user behavior suite built with TypeScript, using PostgreSQL for database storage and S3 for recorded media files. It integrates traffic metrics, session replays, heatmaps, lead capture forms, and AI reporting into a unified dashboard.

What it is good for

Solo builders and small teams who want detailed visitor behavior insights and lead capture forms on their own servers without paying monthly fees to multiple SaaS providers.

Good
  • Replaces multiple third-party tools like Google Analytics, Hotjar, and popup builders.
  • Includes session replays and click heatmaps out of the box.
  • Runs easily with a single Docker Compose command.
Watch for
  • Requires managing a PostgreSQL database and S3-compatible storage.
  • Uses the AGPL-3.0 licence, which requires publishing modifications if you host the service for others.
  • Early-stage project with a small community and limited issue history.
