OneUptime: monitoring platform. Complete open-source uptime and incident stack.

In simple English

When your website or app breaks, you need to know fast. Most teams pay for many separate services to watch for crashes, send alerts, host status pages, and store logs. OneUptime puts all these tools into one single program. You can run it on your own server for free, or pay for their managed cloud service. It saves money and stops you from stitching together a dozen different subscriptions.

What it is

OneUptime is a complete open-source monitoring and observability platform written in TypeScript (a programming language that adds safety rules to JavaScript, which runs web pages). It includes website checks, on-call schedules, incident management, public status pages, error tracking, and log analysis.

What it is good for

This is good for solo builders and small teams who want enterprise-grade monitoring without paying expensive monthly fees to multiple vendors. It replaces separate tools for uptime checks, status pages, on-call paging, and log searching with one self-hosted dashboard.

Good
  • Replaces many expensive monitoring tools with one system.
  • Includes public status pages and subscriber notifications out of the box.
  • Can be self-hosted completely for free using Docker.
Watch for
  • Requires a powerful server with Docker and enough memory to run many backend services at once.
  • Setup involves configuring multiple environment secrets and database connections.
  • Uses a custom licence split where some enterprise features are restricted.

Pingdom, StatusPage, PagerDuty, and Datadog
