In simple English

This program runs the server side of Open Collective. It handles user accounts, financial transactions and group budgets. You can use it to build your own funding platform or connect to existing financial tools. It costs nothing to download under an MIT licence. Running it requires a database and a server setup.

What it is

A GraphQL API (an interface for programs to ask for specific data) built with TypeScript and PostgreSQL (a system for storing information in tables). It connects web browsers and mobile apps to your financial records.

What it is good for

Solo builders who want to run a private funding platform or study how large communities manage shared money.
