In simple English
IceHrm helps a growing company keep track of its staff. You can store employee records, manage leave requests and handle weekly timesheets in one place. Every worker gets a personal dashboard to view their remaining holiday days and company announcements. Managers can approve time off and check team calendars without sorting through messy spreadsheets. Running it yourself requires a server and basic technical knowledge.
What it is
IceHrm is an open-source human resource management system written in JavaScript with a MySQL 8 database. It runs as a set of Docker (a way to run a program inside its own sealed box, so it cannot break anything else on your server) containers and provides a web interface for administrators and staff.
What it is good for
Small business owners and team leads who want a private system to manage staff leave, attendance, and project timesheets without paying for expensive cloud software.
- Centralises employee profiles, leave balances and company documents.
- Includes timesheets and project tracking for billing clients.
- Self-hosted option keeps all employee data on your own server.
- Custom licence restricts certain commercial uses and redistribution.
- Requires a running server and Docker maintenance over time.
- First setup takes a few minutes while the container builds frontend assets.
