In simple English
This tool draws a calendar inside Emacs. It shows your timed tasks as coloured blocks in a weekly view. You can drag blocks around with your mouse to change their times. It saves those changes straight back into your plain-text notes. It also adds a compact day view to your existing agenda screen.
What it is
org-timegrid is an Emacs Lisp package that renders an interactive SVG calendar driven by plain-text outline files. It reads active timestamps, draws a week grid matching your active colour theme, and writes edits back to the source headings.
What it is good for
People who manage their schedules in text files and want a graphical week view without leaving Emacs. It removes the friction of manually updating start and end times inside timestamps by letting you use your mouse.
- Drag and drop blocks to reschedule items instantly.
- Updates your source notes automatically when you move events.
- Integrates directly with your existing agenda files and colour theme.
- Requires Emacs 29.1 or later with SVG support compiled in.
- Takes time to configure through Emacs Lisp variables.
- Only works with Org mode files.
